ECOFARIO Advances Pilot Deployment For Targeted Filtrate Purification In Industrial Wastewater Treatment

Targeted purification of heavily loaded filtrate streams supports stable and efficient industrial wastewater treatment

ECOFARIO continues to expand the industrial application of its High-G technology with a new pilot deployment focused on the targeted purification of heavily loaded filtrate streams generated by a dewatering unit in an industrial wastewater treatment plant.

The pilot setup is designed to integrate a two-stage ECOFARIO system into an existing process loop in order to selectively remove fine solids from the filtrate and return the clarified light phase back into the system in a controlled manner. By separating the stream into heavy and light fractions, the technology enables a precise reduction of solids load in critical recirculation flows and supports a more stable overall process operation.

This application is particularly relevant for industrial wastewater treatment environments where dewatering processes produce filtrate streams that still contain significant fine particle loads. Under fluctuating hydraulic conditions, elevated back pressures and continuous recirculation, these residual solids can place a considerable burden on tanks, pumps and downstream treatment stages. Targeted solids removal therefore offers strong potential to improve internal water quality, stabilize process performance and increase the efficiency of the overall treatment system.

The pilot plant has been developed as a compact, two-stage solution that can be integrated into existing facilities with comparatively low installation effort. In addition to straightforward electrical connection and simple start-stop communication with the plant control system, the integration concept has been specifically tailored to treat filtrate streams from dewatering operations with high recirculation rates efficiently and reliably.

At the core of the solution is ECOFARIO’s High-G separation principle, which uses high centrifugal forces to remove particles that are often difficult to separate by conventional gravity-based settling. This makes the technology especially attractive for demanding liquid-solid separation tasks in industrial wastewater treatment, particularly where conventional sedimentation processes reach their limits.

With this pilot project, ECOFARIO once again demonstrates how process optimization, resource efficiency and retrofit capability can be combined in a practical industrial solution — fast to implement, technically robust and designed for measurable impact in real-world wastewater applications.
